This is a part of the 'growing your intuition skills' recommendations that I bang on about, over and over again, in the YouTube series. It is soooo important for us to take the time to just 'be'.
Our lifestyles are so busy, stressful and full, that just 'being' has to be compartmentalised in an organised fashion and as such, is seen as work from our psyche's perspective.
At this point in history, we're hitting a spiritual wall if we don't break through with some common sense. We're talking basic 'self-reflection' time; navel gazing and it's becoming as extinct as the dinosaurs.

Finding the Holies of Holies
People used to travel to work/school and listen to 'nothing'. We would do exercise/housework/decorate etc to 'nothing' and we were okay. Our mind was our companion. It was a space where the mind could wander and our imagination would awaken to new ideas. It's also the home of our intuition and where our spiritual guides hang out. The holies of holies; the silence within the silence, is where our ego steps aside. Our subconscious is in the driving seat because we've moved away from the left side of the brain and moved into the right side. That is why, in esoteric circles, the bible talks of Jesus sitting at the 'right' side of God because it's the 'right' side that connects us to our spiritual self.
So if we stay in that left hemisphere all day long, it's basically a dud move for attaining higher consciousness because our ego is still engaged and we're only working at a logical and conscious level.
This is why you'll find the best Doctors/Accountants/Emergency services/etc etc etc are the people who can 'choose' to engage the right side of their brain. They're able to bring intuitive information as well as text book knowledge and thus can view a problem from several angles and come up with a solution that all the left brain people could not.
Trigger Alert!
This ability to switch on our right-side brain, at will, takes practice and the 'will' to do it. Most find the 'will' by accident (their phone, TV, laptops break, etc) and after a few days of crying, realise they feel more peaceful and relaxed.
If you've ever watched teenagers being forced to go media free for a week you'll know what I'm talking about. Their first reaction is horror but as the days go by the conversations become longer and far deeper in content. Us that are adults are not much different, we may just scream less about it but our insides are still screaming "What am I going to do with myself".
We've lost the ability to be with ourselves. What has gone so far wrong in our society that the idea of our own company alarms us? Whatever the reasons, it's all irrelevant because it can't be used as an excuse. Nothing made us be this way. We choose every minute of the day in our free time to fill it with 'others' and not 'ourselves'. Music is 'others' thoughts. Books are 'others' thoughts. Media is most definitely 'others' thoughts. Where is the space for us to think and feel about things without the bombardment of others? My videos are slower paced because they are meant to be a place, to join me, in right brain activities. I've been told to make them more action packed and faster paced but it's not my job to enable and pacify peoples short-attention spans. Harsh, I realise.
Most of what people are suffering from is stress. Huge amounts of stress that are maintained by volumes of fast-paced preoccupations from electrical activities. To relieve that stress we need to learn how to step away, breath and go slooooo.
Trigger finished and we're back again
So, it is in the silence within the silence, that we can drift from left to right brain. It is in the silence within the silence, that we gain autonomous thought and it is in the silence within the silence, that we connect with Higher Other.
If you have any thoughts, feel free to type them below or go to my Forum and encourage others.
So go and search for the silence, get back to reality and find that old friend, 'You' ... and whilst you're there, say hello to your Guide from me.
